Kaveh Rezaei (Persian: كاوه رضایی, born May 30, 1993 in Karaj, Iran) is an Iranian taekwondo exponent and the current world junior champion in Taekwondo.[1] On 16 August 2010, Kaveh Rezaei went on to win gold in the 1st Summer Youth Olympics held in Singapore, by beating Daryl Tan Jia Jun of Singapore 12 - 0 in the semi finals and Nursultan Manayev of Kazakhstan 4 - 2 in the finals of the Men's Under 55-kg category.[2][3] Kaveh Rezaei was a favourite going into the tournament,[4] and seized Iran’s first gold medal in the Youth Olympic Games.[5]

There was controversy as Iran was earlier accused of putting politics before sports at the inaugural Youth Olympics, when fellow competitor Mohammad Soleimani withdrew from a taekwondo final against Israel, citing injury.[6][7]
